What your overview should say

An overview names the main trends or differences in one or two sentences, without numbers. These are the features a strong answer picks out:

  1. 1Overall, rents were highest in Dubai and lowest in Delhi, and in every city a three-bedroom flat cost roughly double a one-bedroom one.
  2. 2In Dubai, a one-bedroom flat cost $1,400 and a three-bedroom $3,100, the highest in both cases.
  3. 3Delhi was cheapest at $280 and $600, while Istanbul and Tashkent sat in the middle, with one-bedroom rents of $450 and $380.

The bar chart compares the average monthly rent for one-bedroom and three-bedroom flats in five cities.

Overall, Dubai was the most expensive city for both flat sizes and Delhi the cheapest. In every city, a three-bedroom flat cost about twice as much as a one-bedroom flat.

Dubai had the highest rents, at $1,400 for a one-bedroom flat and $3,100 for a three-bedroom flat. Berlin was second, with rents of $950 and $1,900 respectively, so a three-bedroom flat there cost exactly double the smaller type. Berlin's rents were well below those in Dubai, at roughly two-thirds of the one-bedroom price and 61% of the three-bedroom price.

The other three cities were much cheaper. Istanbul's rents were $450 for one bedroom and $950 for three, while in Tashkent they were $380 and $750. Notably, a three-bedroom flat in Istanbul cost $950, exactly the same as a one-bedroom flat in Berlin.

Delhi was the cheapest city, at $280 for a one-bedroom flat and $600 for a three-bedroom flat. A three-bedroom flat in Dubai therefore cost more than ten times as much as a one-bedroom flat in Delhi.
