The family member I spend most time with is my younger brother, Timur. He's three years younger than me, and since we still live in the same flat, we see each other pretty much every day.

We do quite a lot together. On weekday evenings we usually play football in the yard behind our building with a few neighbours, and at weekends we often cook something simple, like pasta or fried rice, because our parents tend to be out visiting relatives. We also have a habit of watching one series together. At the moment it's a science fiction show, and we've agreed that neither of us will watch an episode without the other, which is surprisingly hard to stick to.

When I'm away at university, we message each other nearly every day, mostly with silly videos and memes, but we also call on Sundays to catch up properly.

I enjoy his company for several reasons. To begin with, he has a great sense of humour and can always make me laugh, even after a terrible day. He's also very honest. If I'm wearing something that doesn't suit me, or if I've made a poor decision, he tells me straight away, which I appreciate more than polite flattery.

Most importantly, I feel completely relaxed around him. I don't have to pretend to be anyone else or impress him. We argue sometimes, of course, usually about whose turn it is to wash the dishes, but we never stay angry for long. I think we're lucky to be friends as well as brothers, and I hope that stays the same when we're both older.
