Nordic countries combine such policies and have both high living standards and relatively small income gaps.

In conclusion, growing inequality is caused by technology, globalisation, unequal ownership and unequal education, but fair taxation, education and social support can reduce it. Narrowing the gap is important not only for fairness but also for social stability and long-term economic growth.
