Dear Mrs Hussain,

I hope you are well. I am writing to you because I think we all need to find a better solution to the parking problem in our street.

As you probably know, it has become almost impossible to find a space in the evenings. Since the new office block opened at the end of the road, commuters have been leaving their cars here all day, and last week one of the residents was blocked in by a van for three hours.

I would like to suggest that we hold a meeting to discuss what we can do, perhaps asking the council about parking permits. How about Thursday 10 October at 7.30 pm in my flat, at number 14? I will provide tea and coffee.

Since you know so many people in the street, I wonder whether you could help me to tell the other neighbours.

Please let me know if the date is convenient.

Kind regards,
Brian Foster
