  1. Where is your hometown?
  2. What do you like most about your hometown?
  3. Is there anything you dislike about your hometown?
  4. How has your hometown changed in recent years?
  5. Would you like to live in your hometown in the future? [Why/Why not?]

How to answer Part 1 questions

  • Answer the question, then add one reason or a short example.
  • Do not learn answers by heart. Part 1 is about you, and memorised answers sound memorised.
  • If a question asks why, say why. Short one-word answers cost fluency marks.
