  1. Do you like giving gifts?
  2. What was the last gift you gave to someone?
  3. Do you prefer to give handmade gifts or things from a shop? [Why?]
  4. What is the best gift you have received?
  5. On what occasions do people give gifts in your country?

How to answer Part 1 questions

  • Answer the question, then add one reason or a short example.
  • Do not learn answers by heart. Part 1 is about you, and memorised answers sound memorised.
  • If a question asks why, say why. Short one-word answers cost fluency marks.
