Dear Ms Kowalski,

I am writing to inform you formally that I am resigning from my position as senior accountant. In accordance with my contract, my last day will be 30 June, which gives the company one month's notice.

This has not been an easy decision. I have enjoyed my three years at the company, and I have learned a great deal from you and from the team. However, I have been offered a position in another city, with greater responsibility in a financial planning team, and I feel that this is the right moment to take the next step in my career. My family and I have also decided to move closer to my parents.

I want the transition to be as smooth as possible. I am happy to prepare a detailed handover document, to train my replacement and to finish all the current projects before I leave, including the annual audit. If it would be useful, I can also stay a little later in the month.

Thank you for all the support you have given me, and for the opportunities I have had here.

Yours sincerely,
Elena Vasquez
